It is certain that one needs to take care of his/her teeth both on and off the field.
Good oral care begins at home and reflects in your performance on field.
Let’s talk about some measures every sportsperson should take.
1. MAKING A MOUTHGUARD A PART OF YOUR UNIFORM

-A mouthguard as the name suggests guards your upper teeth against any shock or trauma which is very likely to cause fractures in your teeth. Mouthguards are made of a hard, yet comfortable plastic and are custom made for you by the dentist.

Dentists do not suggest wearing the “readymade” ones as they do not fit properly and don't distribute forces of impact equally causing more damage. We have seen many sports persons getting so used to and comfortable with them that they feel a
lacuna when they are not wearing them. In fact, many sports authorities won’t let you play without wearing one. Ideally, the referee has to keep a constant check on players for wearing mouthguards that’s the reason, they are coloured too. At DMDS, we provide you a wide variety of 26 colours and patterns to choose from!
2. Reduce intake of “ Sugary sports drinks”

-As we all know, increased sugar content in the drinks may lead to cavities for players who are involved in sports that last hours, sipping sugary drinks frequently shall impart more time for sugar to be coated on teeth and plenty of hours to bacteria to work on developing cavities.
3. Eat, Brush, Sleep!

-Make it a habit to brush twice daily especially before going to bed, rinse after every meal and see a dentist every 6 months.
