WHAT A HEALTHY MOUTH LOOKS LIKE

Not only your teeth, but the whole mouth requires your utmost care and attention.

Here we will take a sneak peak on all parts of the mouth telling you what to expect from your healthy mouth.

· GUMS

Your healthy gums should look pink to lightish red. Some people have a few black patches on gums which are normal & is termed as melanin pigmentation.

When you touch your gums they should stay firm & should not appear swollen & hence bleed on brushing.

Your healthy gums should look pink to lightish red & feel firm.

· BREATH

A healthy mouth does not smell bad.

Lick the back of your hand, wait for 10 seconds & then smell it. If it does not smell bad, you have a good hygiene.

· TEETH

Normal tooth colour is yellowish white.

Healthy teeth & fillings do not have any stains or cavities on them.

Healthy teeth are firm and do not have any cracks or chips or sensitivity.

Minor cracks on the tongue are normal & should be thoroughly cleaned.

· TONGUE

A healthy tongue should be pinkish red. Some people develop white patches on the tongue which are caused by improper cleaning of the tongue.

Minor cracks on tongue are fine unless painful.

If you pass all the tests, you have an awesome mouth!

But that does not mean you stop seeing your dentist every 6 months.
