Many people complain of bleeding gums while they brush their teeth.
Worse is, waking up with a pool of blood in your mouth.
Is it a spell or curse?
No,There are some simple things you need to know if you have bleeding gums.
YOU MIGHT HAVE GINGIVITIS

A medical term for “swollen gums” 99% of the times, gingivitis is the cause. Improper brushing
leads to compromised oral hygiene leading to tartar build up which irritates the gums leading to them swelling up. Swollen gums when touched lead to Bleeding.
SOLUTION: One needs to get a professional cleaning & polishing of gums & teeth and do some warm saline rinses following that. Also,Know about the correct way of toothbrushing & flossing from your dentist.
VITAMIN C DEFICIENCY

-If you have a good oral hygiene & your dentist gives you an OK; means that your gums need some more Vitamin C to stay firm.
SOLUTION: Your Dentist will put you on a course of Vitamin C supplements.
DIABETES

-It is a factor; not a cause of bleeding gums. People who have diabetes are more prone to
having issues with their gums. Thus, your gums can tell you a lot about any underlying disease
in your body.
BLOOD CLOTTING DISORDERS
Some blood disorders like Thrombocytopenia, Hemophilia or even leukemia compromise the clothing of blood at various sites of the body including gums.
PREGNANCY

-Due to increased hormonal shifts during pregnancy, it is a common to find bleeding gums. Ask your dentist how to take care of your oral hygiene.
